Athena, the latest limited figure edition by Kris Kuksi, is an adaptation and homage to the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. Athena’s influence as a warrior goddess played a pivotal role in Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey and whose feud among Aphrodite and Hera brought about the Trojan War. Born from her father Zeus, Athena is regarded as a protector over various cities in Greece and both the Parthenon and the Acropolis were built in honor of her.
She has become an international symbol of freedom and democracy as well as the Arts and classical learning. During peacetime she is known as the Goddess of Crafts and a great inventor for mortals as well as many womanly skills. Athena radiates confidence in this edition, her knowing, logical gaze looks on as chaos among the mortals at her feet ensues in only a way that Kris Kuksi can dream up and execute.
Only 50 handcrafted and one-of-a-kind works will be made during this edition. She pairs perfectly with more recent editions like Artemis (2022) and Venus and Adonis (2020). As each work is unique, there will be no way of seeing your purchase in advance. Prices are $650 plus $50 for domestic shipping, and $100 for international orders.
New York residents will also add sales tax on top of this price. Each piece will be signed and numbered by the artist and come with a removable protective acrylic case.
